Our 13 year old doxie went blind from cataracts this year and kept hitting her head on the coffee table, it broke my heart every time. I was worried she'd hate wearing it but she forgot it was on after about 20 minutes and now she bumps the ring, turns and keeps going

A few things you might be wondering

Which size should I choose?+

Measure around the neck (A) and check the muzzle measurement (B), then compare both with the size chart. If your dog is between sizes, choose the larger one. Contact us if you are unsure.

How does the halo work?+

The forward hoop is designed to contact an obstacle before the face. It provides a physical cue; it does not use sensors, choose a route or restore sight.

Can my dog eat and drink while wearing it?+

Access depends on the fit, your dog and the bowl. Check that they can lower their head and reach food and water comfortably. Remove the halo if it gets in the way.

How long does it take to get used to?+

Every dog is different. Begin with short, calm sessions under close supervision, use praise and let your dog set the pace. Stop if they show discomfort.

Can my dog sleep in it?+

Remove the halo for sleep and long naps. It should be worn under supervision.

Who is Pawvalo Halo for?+

It is intended as an everyday aid for blind and low-vision dogs who bump into obstacles. Correct sizing and supervision matter. It does not replace a safe environment or veterinary care.

Use under supervision. Remove for sleep. The halo does not restore sight or detect steps, drops or every obstacle.

Pawvalo forward hoop, padded neck support and adjustable fit
01

The hoop makes contact first

The forward hoop is positioned to touch an obstacle before the face. That contact gives your dog a physical cue to pause or change direction.

She started exploring again

Bella went blind almost overnight and she just stopped moving, she would stand in the middle of the living room scared to take a step. The first day with PupGuard she bumped the ring into the couch, stopped, turned and kept walking. A week later she's back to following me from room to room and I didn't realize how much I missed that

Way cheaper than the one our vet showed us

Our vet showed us a halo that was almost $90 and I wasn't sure it would even work for Max. This one does the same job, the padding is soft and the ring is sturdy, and he's a big boy but the XL fits him great

No more bumping into the doorframe

Our old guy is 15 and his eyes are cloudy now, he used to get up in the morning and walk straight into the bedroom doorframe. Not since we got this, we take it off at night and put it on as soon as he's up and moving

Bella has cataracts in both eyes and the vet said surgery wasn't an option at her age. She was walking into the walls in the hallway so hard I could hear it from the other room and she started refusing to leave the living room. Two weeks with this and she's going up and down the hallway again, she bumps the ring, turns and keeps going like it's nothing. I wish I'd found it months ago

Peanut had both eyes removed in March because of glaucoma and honestly I didn't know how he was going to live like that. He was so scared he would just freeze in the middle of the room and shake. With this on he started exploring again, slowly but he does it. He even sleeps in it, the collar part is soft like a little pillow so he doesn't mind. Thank you for making this

Our lab mix is 14 and went blind this year, he started getting scared to walk around the house and just stayed in his bed all day. I have arthritis in my hands and the buckles are easy enough for me to do on my own. He's moving around again, my wife cried the first time he walked into the kitchen by himself

Our frenchie lost his right eye last year and he always bumped into things on that side, door frames, the coffee table, the glass door. Now the ring takes the hit on that side and he's way more confident. He can still eat and drink with it on which was my biggest worry

Honestly I almost didn't buy it because $30 felt like a lot for something I wasn't sure he'd wear. It paid for itself the first week, no more vet visit for a scratched eye like we had in the summer.

Works great outside, he used to run into the fence posts and the patio chairs all the time and now the ring hits first. Took me a bit of fiddling to get the straps adjusted right, but once it's set you don't have to touch it again

I was nervous about the size so I measured her neck and snout like the chart says and ordered the M, fits perfect. the ring sits right in front of her nose with a little room so she hits stuff with it and not her face
